The TX650 was built in 1973-1974, following the XS1, XS1B, and XS2. In 1975 it became the XS650 that was sold till 1983. The 653 cc, air cooled parallel twin remained mostly the same from the beginning. The mikuni carburetors changed as the line progressed. This 1974 model is rated at 53 bhp@7000rpm. Comes with dual mikuni BS 38 cv . Mostly stock/very complete. Starts right up and will idle. Sputters on the right side. Probably needs a carb kit, I just cleaned and inspected them and ran what was in them- jets, needle and seat, diaphragm. New gasket set. No fuel leaks. Super clean tank inside, a few dents and dings on the outside. Rebuilt peacocks. New Dunlop D404 tires with less than 20 miles. Great project bike with a lot of potential. Previous owner was a local father and son. Both had minor accidents and layed it down. These bikes are built really tough. It takes a lot too hurt them. The bars are tweaked and the mufflers have some caracter marks. The bike was originally a cinnamon brown color with white letters. The father had it painted black after the first dump. The stitching on the back of the saddle has separated from the material shrinkage. The foam is still in tact. I believe the engine has never been apart and all the gaskets are original. Once the engine gets warm oil seeps from the back side of the cylinders at the base. I purchased a complete engine gasket kit from Ebay for my 1979 xs650 for around $80.00 2 years ago. I've owned 6 of these 650's and have a 79 also. They're fun bikes to ride and easy to work on. Lots of parts available and support for the brand. I've seen these built in to some amazing rides. I'm happy to give more details by phone calls. After 6pm is best. Serious inquiries only please.
