️ HELP US FIND LADY HER NEXT FOREVER HOME ️
Warning: Reading this post may result in falling in love with a dog you've never met.
Meet Lady, Grandpa's sweet little black dog with a giant heart to big for her own body, a goofy personality, and a deep desire to be loved.
Lady is part Mini Australian Shepherd and part Cocker Spaniel. She was adopted when she was just a little over a year old and was originally meant to be Grandpa's companion. Instead, she completely attached herself to Grandma. She followed her everywhere, stayed by her side, and became her faithful little shadow. When Grandma passed away a few years ago, Lady felt the loss too. Grandpa has done everything he could to care for her, but he can no longer keep up with the exercise and attention she needs.
We've brought Lady into our home temporarily, but unfortunately our children are allergic to dogs, and she deserves a family that can fully embrace her. If we could keep her, we absolutely would.
Now we're looking for a loving family willing to give this sweet girl the next chapter she deserves.
What Makes Lady Special?
• Loves children and has always been gentle and kind.
• Loves attention and wants to be part of the family.
• Loves chasing tennis balls or small toys and playing "fetch".
• Loves walks more than just about anything.
• Potty trained and accustomed to a doggie door from my parents house.
• She is spayed and current on all vaccinations.
• Gets along well with other dogs.
• Has beautiful longer hair and will shed.
• Has a sweet soul and a heart full of love.
Let's Talk About Fetch...
Lady absolutely LOVES playing ball.
Now, technically speaking, she understands the "chase the ball" part perfectly.
The "bring it back" part? Well... she's still conducting research on that concept.
She'll happily sprint after the ball, investigate it, maybe stare at it proudly, and then look at you as if to say:
"Great throw! You should go do that again."
So if you're willing to walk over and retrieve the ball yourself, she'll gladly keep playing all day.
And Walks?
If you grab her leash and ask:
"Want a walk? Want a walk?"
Prepare yourself. Lady transforms from a shy little dog into a furry pogo stick.
Tail wagging.
Excited hops.
Happy spins.
Pure joy.
Walks are one of her favorite things in the world.
A Few Honest Things About Lady
Lady is about 5 years old
Lady has experienced a lot of change in her life.
Because of that, she can be anxious when meeting new people or adjusting to a new environment.
At first she may hide under beds, behind couches, beneath tables, or anywhere she believes is a safe place.
She can be especially cautious around strangers and taller men.
She may also choose to eat privately. For reasons known only to Lady, she prefers dining without an audience.
Fill her bowl, walk away, and somehow the food disappears.
She's basically a tiny four-legged ninja.
When she gets nervous, especially during big changes, she may become upset to her stomach or occasionally throw up.
Please don't let that scare you away.
She isn't sick.
She's simply a sensitive soul who needs a little extra patience, reassurance, and time to settle in.
As she begins to trust you, her anxiety improves and her personality starts to shine.
What Lady Needs Most
A patient family.
A calm home.
People willing to give her time to adjust to her new environment.
Someone who understands that not every dog walks into a new home and immediately acts comfortable.
Someone willing to let her learn that she is safe again.
Because once Lady trusts you, she gives you everything.
- She'll follow you around.
- She'll sit beside you.
- She'll ask for attention.
- She'll get excited when she sees you.
- And she'll love you with her whole heart.
We're not looking for just any home. We're looking for the family that understands that sometimes the very best dogs take a little time to bloom. Lady has already experienced loss. Now we're hoping she can experience a fresh start.
️ If you think you might be the right family for Lady, please send us a message. Please share this post and help us find a wonderful home for a truly wonderful dog.
We love her dearly and will miss her tremendously, but we know there is someone out there who will give her the love, patience, walks, tennis balls, and forever home she deserves.
️ Lady is ready to love again. ️
