1/3 hp electric motor. I ran this motor for 45 minutes and it did not overheat. Temperature was normal. It has a 1/2 inch shaft and on off switch and cord. It also has an overload circuit breaker. The motor makes a bit of a noise, but I think it will run for many years. It would be best on a machine used temporarily like a drill press or table saw.
