VenmoYogurt is the SWEETEST dog I have ever met. We adopted him from the shelter 6 weeks ago and he immediately warmed up to us. He came being house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained! He is not reactive to dogs or people and is truly the most mellow even-tempered dog I have ever met. He joyously follows me around the house, and is very people oriented. He did not know any commands when we got him, but he very quickly learned sit and down despite our inconsistent training and he is also learning spin and twirl. He is very intelligent and eager to please.
He has stolen my heart, but unfortunately he is not a good fit for our home due to our resident cat. Yogurt doesn't bother her in fact he hardly even acknowledges that she exists, but our cat HATES him. She will go out of her way to try to attack him, she stays upstairs, she has stopped cleaning herself, and she is completely emotionally shut down. Yogurt is a doll and I adore him, but our resident cat's wellbeing must be prioritize. Yogurt is so friendly and love able we are confident he will find another family to adore him, and it is the inly reason we are okay making this decision.
Pros of Yogurt:
He got a clean bill of health from 2 vets this past month!
He LOVES the groomer (he does not need to be groomed regularly, we just took him because he was filthy from being a stray)
He is very people oriented and loves cuddling
Crate trained
Leash trained
Potty trained
Learning commands
Learns easily
Good with cats
I believe he would be good with dogs
He is okay with looong walks, or a day or two with no walks at all! He is 11 so he does love to lounge.
I have NEVER heard him bark
Cons of Yogurt:
He likes to eat cat poop from the litter box or on walks
He is afraid of children. He has never bared teeth or shown aggression, but he seems to be scared and shut down.
