Meet Smoky! She is a late-teen bay mare with a kind heart and a lot of try. She has a very sweet, willing demeanor and genuinely wants to please. Smoky enjoys having a job and is the type that will follow your lead and try new things with the right guidance. She is push button, good mix of whoa and go, and has a comfortable walk, trot, and lope, making her enjoyable to ride.

We’ve also had her out on the trails, where she’s done really well. She rides confidently whether she’s in the front or the back and isn’t bothered about being left behind, which makes her a great partner outside the arena.

That said, we want to be upfront so she finds the right home:

She has a typical mare personality at times and can get a little cinchy. Can pull back if she feels scared or stuck, so she needs confident, patient handling Has a past injury on her left hind fetlock and can be difficult for the farrier to pick that foot up, though she does pick up all four feet She is a little weaker in her hind end and may crossfire on the right lead behind occasionally. She would likely benefit from a little maintenance. Without it, I would say she is best suited for lighter work.

Smoky would do best with an intermediate+ rider who can be a calm and confident leader for her. Once she finds her person or family I think she will really fluorish.
