VenmoThe CRF 250 Rally is an incredible entry point bike into light weight adventure bike, capable trail bike, efficient commuter, and low maintenance long range across the country bike. I have put every one of the nearly 11,000 miles on this bike since buying it new in 2017. With the larger gas tank and included roto pax 1gal fuel cell, this bike comfortably stretches out to 200 miles between refuels. I have done several multi day BDR trails with this bike as well as local single track. I have dropped a tooth in the front sprocket to add a touch more power down low at the cost of about 5 mph top end speed. With its 6th gear, it will still cruise at 60mph. Pairing that with the DOT approved knobby back tire, I have geared this dual sport to be more dirt oriented than street.
I have also added pro taper wider handlebars with a riser kit. Stiffer springs in the front forks. A phone mount on the GPS bar with USB charging. The tail rack with included rotopax is a great start for luggage options
The plastics are far from perfect, (it has been well loved and enjoyed) but the frame, tank, and mechanics are all in great shape.
This bike is still a more capable bike than I am a rider and yet the perfect bike to load a few kids onto and putt around camp. Then gear up and hit the single track and not worry about connecting roads between trails.
I also have a 2017 KTM 390 Duke listed for sale that would make a great street bike commuter/canyon bike pairing with this dual sport. I would be willing to make a deal on both if you are interested.
