Joey is a friendly, playful, and intelligent 4-year-old gelding looking for his forever person.

Joey came to me after I purchased my Gypsy cross mare and later discovered she was pregnant. He was a wonderful surprise and has been such a special addition to our family. Unfortunately, due to some physical injuries, I am no longer able to safely continue his training.

Joey has a bubbly personality and comes running to the gate whenever he sees you walking out to his pasture. He has a solid foundation, excellent ground manners, and has been trained using a relationship-based natural horsemanship approach. We've also explored some liberty work together, though I am still fairly new to it, so we have been learning together.

He is incredibly curious, eager to learn, and genuinely wants to please his person. Joey has been saddled, trailered, ponied, and exposed to a variety of environments. He has been sat on and has had his first ride, both of which went well.

Joey is a sensitive young horse who would benefit from continued confidence-building and a patient, kind partner. I believe he has the potential to excel in any discipline and would enjoy having a job to do.

Joey has never had any serious injuries - just the occasional scrape or scratch - and is strong, sound and healthy. I expect he will mature right around 15 hands. And though I don't know his exact bloodlines, he does have some Gypsy, possibly Paint, and Curly genes. (Photos of his mom -paint mare- near the end)

Finding the right home for Joey is more important than a quick sale. Joey deserves a person who will continue to help him grow and become the wonderful partner I know he can be.
