I have not been able to find the exact age of this reel. The closest I have come is in the window of early 1960s to the late 1960s. This reel looks like it is in new condition. It comes with its original box which has some damage. It also comes with two little Roddy booklets, one titled “Fishin’ Tips” and the other one is titled “Reel Parts Catalog”. The parts catalog shows parts for a wide range of Roddy reels, including the 550A. There is no copyright date on the booklets but they were in the box with the reel. Please see photos.
