VenmoThis is not a reproduction poster. This is an original. My grandfather was in the Navy during World War II. When he passed away my mom kept all his U.S. Navy items. She stored them away. She has now passed. So now I'm going through his treasures.
This is an awesome poster that was designed by Howard C. Christy, in 1915. Christy was an American artist and illustrator. He was famous for his "Christy Girl" depictions of attractive, idealized women. These images were widely used in recruitment efforts, during both World War I and World War II. This measures 23 1/2" wide x 35" tall. The picture and colors are vibrant. It has the artist's name and date of 1915, under the words "the Navy". At the very bottom of the poster it has a long number and "Manufactured in the U.S.A. Dover Publications, Inc., 31 East 2nd Street, Mineola, NY 11501". It was hard to get a picture without my shadow showing up. This is in very good condition. Must see! Price is firm.
