VenmoVintage, hand coiled Tarahumara Indian clay pottery vessel (often referred to as a bean pot or water olla).
The Tarahumara people are indigenous to the Sierra Madre Occidental region in northern Mexico. Their pottery is highly distinct: it is traditionally built entirely by hand using a pinch-and-coil method (without a pottery wheel), fired over open wood pits which creates the dark, varied carbon-scorched patina, and wrapped with raw leather/rawhide cords around the rim for hanging or added stability.
KSL Classifieds makes it easy to buy and sell with peace of mind. Check our safety tips and quickly report anything that doesn’t look right to keep your experience smooth and secure.
