VenmoMeet Todd – A Sweet, Affectionate Velcro Dog Looking for His Forever Home
This is one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make, but I’m looking for the perfect forever home for Todd.
Todd is a male German Shorthaired Pointer/Black Lab mix who will be 5 years old in November. I’ve had him since he was a puppy, and he has been a beloved part of my family. He is not neutered.
Todd has the sweetest heart. He is incredibly affectionate and loves being close to his people. In fact, he’s what many dog lovers call a “velcro dog”—he wants to be wherever you are. If you’re sitting down, he’ll probably try to curl up in your lap. If that’s not possible, he’ll happily lay at your feet just to be near you. He thrives on companionship and being part of the family.
He is a sensitive soul whose feelings get hurt easily, and he responds best to kindness, patience, and positive reinforcement. One of Todd’s best qualities is how intelligent and trainable he is. He learns quickly, wants to please his people, and picks up on routines and expectations with ease.
Todd is house-trained and crate-trained. He is accustomed to being crated when left home alone and does very well with that routine.
He gets along well with other dogs, especially dogs that enjoy running, playing, and being active. He is good with children, though he can get excited and may accidentally knock over very small kids. He has never been around cats, so I can’t say how he would do with them.
The reason I’m rehoming Todd is simply because he needs more exercise and activity than I can currently provide. I originally hoped he would be a companion for my older dog, but he has much higher energy levels than she does. Without a yard where he can regularly run and play, I know he would be happier in a home that can better meet his needs.
Todd’s ideal home would include: • An active person or family • A fenced yard or regular opportunities to run and exercise • Another playful dog would be a bonus • Someone who wants a loyal companion that’s always nearby
Todd is loving, loyal, goofy, smart, and full of heart. More than anything, he wants to be loved and included. My goal is to find him a home where he can get the exercise he needs and continue being the devoted companion he was born to be.
If you think Todd might be a good fit for your family, please send me a message and tell me a little about yourself and the home you can provide.
