This price listed is per tree
The Canaan Fir (Abies balsamea) originates in Canaan Valley, West Virginia. This tree has beautiful dark green/bluish foliage, with excellent needle retention. Since they have a later bud break, it will be less susceptible to spring frost injury. This conifer is a popular choice for a Christmas tree, with similarities in appearance and fragrance of the Balsam and Fraser Fir.
The Canaan Fir has a hardiness zone between 4-7. This species needs at least 8-12’ of spacing when planting multiples. It will grow approximately 12-24” per year once roots are established. At maturity, it can reach up to 55’ in height and 25’ in width!
*Plant in spring or fall, as long as the ground is not frozen. If you are planting in the summer months, you can temporarily plant in container of your choice until fall to transplant in ground. It will need to be planted in something deeper, allowing its roots to stretch out.
Allow your tree(s) to receive at least 6 hours of sun per day.
These trees thrive in a sandy, loamy soil with a higher PH between 5.5-6.5. Avoid clay soils!
*Fertilize trees in early spring once roots have established.
*These trees are fairly deer resistant and drought tolerant as well!
This listing is for Canaan Fir seedlings that are between 10-13” tall from the base of the plug. Purchasing options are for 1 tree, 3 pack of trees, and 5 pack of trees.
Care and planting instructions are included with every purchase!
