Hi, I'm Patches.

Some of you may remember me, I was here at the shelter a couple of years ago before I found a home. I truly thought it would be forever.

But sometimes life changes in ways no one expects.

Because of changes in my owner's living circumstances, I found myself back at the shelter through no fault of my own. My heart is a little confused, but I'm doing my best to stay hopeful that there's another family out there for me.

I'm about 4 years old, a spayed Collie mix, and I'm what I'd call the perfect medium-sized adventure buddy.

I absolutely LOVE people. If you're handing out pets, belly rubs, attention, or treats, you can count me in! I have lots of energy and would love an active family that enjoys walks, playtime, and making memories together.

I've done well with kids, too, and I really enjoy being included in family life.

Now let's talk honestly about what I need.

I'm a little picky about my dog friends. I may be okay with some dogs, but I'd probably be happiest as your one and only. I did briefly live with a cat in the past, but every cat and every dog is different, so compatibility can never be guaranteed.

I'll also need some help brushing up on my potty training routine. A little patience, consistency, and encouragement will go a long way, and I know I'll appreciate the chance to learn.

What I want most is simple.

I want another family to love.

Another couch to curl up beside.

Another place where I belong.
