Aurora is a safe, trustworthy, and incredibly versatile 6 year old half draft mare. She is one of the best horses we have ever raised and has proven herself in our extreme mountain outfitting business, consistently keeping up with the herd.

Versatile Experience:

• Mountain & Trail: Experienced guide horse leading mountain hunts and packing out game animals. Proficient at hobbling.
• Ranch Work: Regularly used by my 14-year-old daughter to round up a 50-horse herd (often ridden bareback).
• Ring & Lesson: Has participated in Pony Club lessons and works well on a lunge line.
• General Handling: Excellent for the farrier, vet, bathing, and handles almost anything asked of her.

She tested positive for one PSSM1 allele, meaning she requires a consistent daily exercise routine and a low-carb, low-starch diet to prevent muscle cramping ("tying up"). Because of this management, she is best suited for a home that can provide regular turnout and work, rather than heavy, high-intensity labor. When she has "tied up" in the past it has been mild and she was back to work soon after.
