ApplePaySelling a beautiful 1976 vintage Lane hope chest in excellent condition. This is a genuine Lane piece from Altavista, Virginia — Style No. 2905 23, Serial No. 2675150, manufactured May 15, 1976.
Features: • Ornate hand-carved floral relief panels across the front facade • Two functional drawers with original antique brass hardware • Spacious lift-top storage compartment • Intact aromatic eastern red cedar interior — still smells amazing • Original "Aromatic Red Cedar" medallion stamped on the interior floor • Original Lane tag still attached • Solid construction with metal corner reinforcements and lid support hardware
Condition: In good condition for its age. Some natural wear and finish patina on the exterior top consistent with a 50-year-old piece. Interior cedar is clean, vibrant, and still a little aromatic. All hardware is functional. I removed the latch for safety reasons (see pictures, but I will include it if someone chooses to reinstall. The bottom wheels are missing, but they are not needed unless you plan to move it around a lot. Keys not included, I honestly have not seen them since I was a kid.
