VINTAGE QUICKWERK RAILROAD PICKHEAD 17" X 5 LBS, #6 HANDLE HOLE

Because it bears the "Quikwerk" stamp, this tool head was drop-forged at the Warren Tool & Forge Company plant in Warren, Ohio. Given the configuration and marking style, it most likely dates from the 1920s to the 1950s.

These are highly sought after by tool collectors because vintage American drop-forged high-carbon steel holds an edge and resists splintering vastly better than modern cast-iron or cheap steel imports. These were the go to brand for forged mining tools and have a steady following on Ebay.

PERFECT CONDITION, only the original forging imperfections and small signs of use. It has been acid bathed to eliminate the rust and painted with Rustoleum black.
