ANTIQUE KLIEN-LOGAN MINER / COAL PICK 16" x 3lb 10oz x #7 handle eye
The Klein-Logan Company was active in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 1856 until the mid-20th century. In 1874, the company patented a revolutionary machine to forge the "eye" (the handle hole) of the tool, meaning this specific head was made after 1874 and before 1950, due to the forging, I'm guessing on the older side of that time window. The lighter head / smaller handle was designed for swinging in cramped, low-ceiling underground mine shafts.
It is in original condition with minimal use and no damage. It has been acid bathed and painted with Rustoleum black.
