The Schmidt Cassegrain design does wonders when viewing planets and planetary nebulae, thanks to its long focal length. This telescope has a large aperture, perfect for seeing lots of detail on the moon and planets, viewing faint nebula, and seeing galaxy structure you otherwise wouldn’t see using a typical telescope. All this added together means that this design is perfect for detailed observing, which is why many Universities have an observatory with one of these in it! It may seem intimidating at first, but don’t fret, the Schmidt Cassegrain is one of the easiest to use telescope designs.
All in all, I would recommend a scope like this one to beginners, intermediates, and advanced observers.
