Goose is an 7/8 year old Draft Cross paint gelding, 15.1 hands and built like a tank, can carry anyone all day long. His age by teeth is accurate and verified by an equine dentist. Goose must have been a pack horse in the past because he and isn’t afraid of tarps or being sacked out and have basically anything on his back. He has done some trail riding and is best following his buddy.
Goose is good to catch, tie, saddle, bridle, load, haul and is broke to ride, he does great riding in a round pen at the walk, trot and lope. He is more confident in the round pen. On the trail he prefers to be in the middle of the string and shows some buddy sourness when leaving the group. I think with more saddle time he will get over that.
We got him to use for our dude string. But we don’t have the time to finish him, just wanting to sell him for what we paid. He has VERY hard feet and won’t need shoes but has had them, he is ok getting trimmed but needs more work on the back feet, he will pull them away from you.
He would do best with an experienced rider or trainer to work with him because He doesn’t know a whole lot, and needs a good and confident hand to guide him. He’ll make an outstanding trail horse or ranch hand with some more work. No bucking just green. He is completely sound and ready for new adventures!
