Freya, affectionately known around the barn as Mustang Sally, is a 9-year-old, 15hh BLM Mustang mare.

She is broke to ride, but because of school and other responsibilities, I have not been able to work with her as consistently as I originally planned. She has a solid foundation, but she is still green and needs an experienced rider who can continue developing her rather than expecting a completely finished horse.

She loads, ties, trailers, is great for the farrier, and loves to be loved on.

Freya is one of the boldest and most fearless horses I have ever met. She is confident, intelligent, forward, and quick on her feet. I have never known her to be spooky. When she encounters something new, her first response is usually curiosity. She also loves water and is always ready to explore.

I genuinely think she could be an incredible endurance prospect. She is strong, sturdy, forward, confident about where she puts her feet, and seems built for someone who wants to cover ground and have an adventure. She could also do very well as a trail, packing, ranch, or all-around adventure horse.

Despite how powerful and solid she is, she is one of the most comfortable horses I have ever ridden. Her canter is absolutely gorgeous and feels like you are floating.

She knows her gaits and cues, and I plan to spend the next few weeks polishing them and putting more consistent rides on her. However, she needs a rider who can keep up with her, ride confidently, and continue building on the foundation she already has.

Freya is also incredibly affectionate. She loves people, seeks out attention, and has a genuinely sweet personality. Despite all the chestnut-mare jokes, she is one of the most loving mares I have ever been around, she absolutely adores people!

Freya would do best with someone who:

• Has experience developing green or unfinished horses • Is confident working with a forward and intelligent mare • Wants a brave horse with serious endurance or adventure potential • Is willing to continue her education and bring out everything she is capable of

Freya is my mom’s heart horse, so finding the right situation for her is extremely important to us.

My mom and I will both be focused on our education and careers over the next four years, and we will not be able to give Freya the consistency and time she deserves. We are looking for a loving, experienced home that will not let her potential go to waste.

She is Safe but green. She has the confidence, intelligence, comfort, and personality to make an incredible partner for the right rider.
