Helping a family member get their broodmare sold.

Info- Coming 7yr old red dun AQHA mare that sells grade. Standing about 14.2hh. She was bought from Andersons with a very young colt at her side. We’ve fed them up and just let them be horses and hang out. She didnt seem to be handled so I’ve gotten her halter broke, lunging, accepting touch all over, she’s picking up her front feet and still working on the her back feet and stands tied. Sweet mare that has a lot of try but I don’t think she was handled very nicely so she was leary of us to start but has come around really nicely. Big talker around feed time!

She might walk away from you when you go to catch her but I’ve worked on this and she’s gotten so much better. I’ve cinched her up with a surcingle and tied bags to her and she was pretty nonchalant about it. For the small amount of time I’ve been able to put into her, she’s come quite far.

Cheap project for someone who has more time than I do. I think she could be pretty cool. Was told by previous owner the mares breeding is “by a son of gunner” and she’s reining bred but couldn’t get her registered and that’s why they ended up at the sale. Ogden UT
