Golden Designs Karlstad, 6-person indoor/outdoor PureTech hybrid in Canadian Red Cedar. This is the flagship hybrid model, and it's being sold complete and ready to be connected: full-spectrum infrared plus a premium (upgraded) Harvia traditional heater with upgraded WiFi control included. Flip the changeover switch and pick your session, full-spectrum infrared or a hot traditional sauna. You can pour water over the hot rocks if you like steaming things up a bit.

Pricing: The sauna alone retails around $25,000, and even brand new in the current off-season runs about $19,000. The included Harvia heater and Xenio controller retail around $4,000 on their own, so a comparable new setup is roughly $23,000 all-in and pushing $30,000 if you wait until Fall to purchased. At $10,995 you're getting the complete, ready-to-run package for well under half of new, with nothing left to buy but the electrical hookup.

What's included that a new base unit doesn't have:

• Harvia Virta HL110E 10.5kW traditional heater (premium floor-mounted stove) with sauna stones

• Harvia Xenio CX30C touchscreen controller with WiFi/app control

Why this model:

• True hybrid. Most saunas do one thing. This gives you full-spectrum infrared or, with the included stove, a hot traditional dry session. Ladle water on the rocks to add steam! You pick the modality each session.

• Full-spectrum IR done right. 13 total emitters: 4 carbon PureTech Near-Zero EMF panels plus 9 near-infrared elements. Also includes red light therapy, not just a single cheap IR type.

• Real materials. Genuine Western Canadian Red Cedar interior, all-weather exterior rated for indoor or outdoor install, tempered glass door and windows, stainless steel hinges and handle.

My one modification: I widened the benches so you can lie down comfortably, a real upgrade over the stock layout.

Condition: Used/Good, and priced accordingly. It's about 18 months old and has seen normal home use. One corner has a cosmetic crack in the wood (see photo); it doesn't affect performance or function. The manufacturer stood behind the unit and shipped us a full replacement (which is why we're selling this one), because the current models have a different assembly that make a replacement wall incompatible with our unit. Everything works as it should.

Electrical: The sauna and the Harvia heater both run on 240V service. The Virta draws roughly 44A, so make sure your circuit is sized for it and use a certified electrician for hookup.

Logistics: It's a substantial unit (about 1,350 lbs all in, breaks down into roughly 10 sections, 79" wide exterior), so measure your space and access. Buyer handles disassembly, transport, and reassembly. Everything comes apart and reassembles with grabber screws, so it's straightforward; two people can do it, three or four is easier. Payment required before disassembly and transport. I've got a quote from Dre's Assembly Team on Thumbtack that they will take it apart and reassemble at the new location for $1600. We've lowered the price to accommodate those costs for anyone that is not the DYI type.
