Venmo18-month-old Golden Designs Karlstad, the 6-person indoor/outdoor PureTech hybrid in Canadian Red Cedar. This is the flagship hybrid model, currently configured for full-spectrum infrared. It's fully wired for traditional stove use as well; add the traditional heater and flip the included changeover switch to run it as a true hybrid.
Pricing: These retail around $25,000. Even brand new in the current off-season they run about $19,000. At $9,995 you're in at roughly half of new.
Why this model:
Factory features (all standard on this model):
My one modification: I widened the benches so you can lie down comfortably, a real upgrade over the stock layout.
Adding traditional heat (OEM path): The factory hybrid uses a Harvia 8kW stove with built-in controls (sauna stones included). Bought new, that heater typically runs about $700–$1,000, plus a box of stones. So even after adding the OEM stove, your all-in is roughly $10,700–$11,000 for a unit that sells new around $19,000 off-season. The changeover switch is included, and the unit runs on 240V/40A service, so a certified electrician is recommended for hookup.
Optional upgrade: if you want WiFi/app control of the traditional heat, you can step up to the Harvia KIP80W with a Xenio WiFi controller, which runs about $2,100 all-in instead of the ~$700–$1,000 built-in-control stove. Note this WiFi setup is not part of the standard $19,000 new package either; it's an upgrade over the OEM stove in both cases, so you're comparing the same add-on whether you buy this unit used or a new one.
Condition: Used/Good, and priced accordingly. It's about 18 months old and has seen normal home use. One corner has a cosmetic crack in the wood (see photo); it doesn't affect performance or function. Worth knowing: the manufacturer stood behind the unit and shipped us a full replacement (which is why we're selling this one), which tells you what their quality and support are like. Everything works as it should.
Logistics: It's a substantial unit (about 1,350 lbs. all in, and breaks down into roughly 10 sections, 79" wide exterior), so measure your space and access. Buyer handles disassembly, transport, and reassembly. Everything comes apart and reassembles with grabber screws, so it's straightforward; two people can do it, three or four is easier. Payment required before disassembly.
