The markings appear to reference basic equipment or parts associated with the Browning .50-caliber M2 machine gun. This is a compact military shipping or parts box, not a modern metal ammunition can, and it is being sold empty with no ammunition or firearm components.
The box has excellent rustic character, including naturally aged wood, darkened finish, old scratches, dents, stains and visible nail holes. The stenciling remains strong and readable on both sides and appears naturally aged into the wood grain.
The interior is surprisingly clean for its age. The original lid is missing, and the small nail holes around the upper edge suggest it originally had a secured wooden top.

Vintage, unrestored condition with:
- Missing original lid\
- Surface scratches, scuffs and stains\
- Edge wear and minor wood loss\
- Visible nail holes around the upper perimeter\
