Vortex Optics +1 Ring Screws (Cap Screws): 15–18 in-lbs Base Clamp Screws: 45–50 in-lbs Critical Installation Tips Measurement Unit: Ensure your torque wrench reads in inch-pounds (in-lbs) and not foot-pounds (ft-lbs) to avoid stripping the threads or crushing your scope tube. Thread Locker: Vortex recommends not using thread-locking compounds (like Loctite) on the ring screws. Lubricating the threads can inadvertently cause you to over-torque and damage internal components. Tightening Sequence: Tighten the cap screws incrementally alternating in an "X" or cross-pattern to maintain an even gap on both sides of the ring halves.
