VenmoSelling a unique piece of World War II military aviation history. This is a vintage military-issue chronograph pocket watch featuring an authentic Hamilton Model 23 dial and movement housed in a Waltham Type A-8 / Part No. 130 coin-edge case.
During WWII and the post-war era, military watchmakers or collectors often re-cased these timepieces using available government-issue supply parts, resulting in this interesting historical "marriage."
Condition & Mechanics: Running Condition: The watch winds smoothly and ticks beautifully. Chronograph Function: The stopwatch buttons engage properly. The central second hand and sub-dials start and stop as they should. Note on Reset: On the third push (the reset function), the main timer hand snaps back but stops just shy of the perfect 12 o'clock vertical position. This is a very common alignment adjustment for vintage chronographs and can be easily nudged back into place by a local watchmaker.
Cosmetics: Great vintage character with expected minor surface scuffs on the military case back, clear dial markings, and intact hands.
