Beautiful vintage china hutch/cabinet made by J.L. Metz Furniture Co. of Hammond, Indiana dated 1959. This is a gorgeous example of French Provincial styling with a domed arched top, scalloped apron, cabriole legs, and scrolled carved detailing throughout.
Details: -Cherry wood veneer construction -Two piece design (hutch top lifts off base for easier moving) -4 glass-front upper doors with adjustable wood shelving -Lower cabinet features 3 center drawers flanked by 2 storage cabinets with scroll-carved center panels -Brass/bronze hardware and pulls with beautiful patina -"Metz Made-Quality Furniture" makers medallion on the case
Dimensions: -Length: 76" -Height: 84" -Depth: 16" -Shelf Depth: 9 3/4" in the side cabinets, 11" in the center cabinet
Condition: Solid, sturdy vintage piece showing beautiful age-appropriate patina on the hardware. A wonderful statement piece for a dining room- tons of storage and display space for china, glassware, or collectables. Small chip in upper corners as shown in the pictures.
Please note: We are not the original owners of this piece, so we do not have history on its prior use or condition before it came to us. After a lot of research on the piece, I bought it hoping to make it work in our space but unfortunately I can't make the original color work and I don't have the time or skill to refinish it. My loss is your gain!
Comes apart in two pieces for transport- my husband can assist with loading but is recommended that the buyer have help loading as well, as this is a substantial, heavy piece of furniture.
