Item: Antique, single-drawer table, Queen Anne style (possibly a lowboy, hall table, or dressing table rather than a true writing desk, given the proportions below) Circa: 1880's

Construction:

• Joints are pegged mortise-and-tenon, no metal hardware in the frame
• Drawer has hand-cut dovetails, irregular spacing
• Drawer bottom is three-plank construction with straight (non-circular) saw marks on the rough edges, suggesting hand or early mill sawing
• Drawer bottom boards are beginning to split along the grain

Legs/feet: Cabriole legs, slender profile, pad feet (not turned)

Hardware: Brass bail pull with keyhole escutcheon, appears stamped rather than hand-forged

Finish: Top surface has a glossy, even reddish-brown finish, possibly refinished at some point; unclear if original

Condition: Structurally sound, some nicks and surface wear, drawer bottom splitting as noted, no maker's marks or labels found anywhere on the piece

Provenance: In the family over 100 years; no documentation of purchase or maker
