This is a French magic lantern sold during the Victorian era, has the French Brevet SGDG patent stamp. Was used as a form of parlor entertainment prior to cinema coming forward. This has the glass chimney still in it for connecting to gas or calcium unit. It is in better shape than most that have been sold with original bluing intact. One with a wooden box sold for 900+ on eBay but prefer to sell to collector locally before going on eBay. Lens appears clear and moves freely, again very hard to find these complete in such good condition!
