Vintage Mahogany Veneer and Tooled Leather Inset Drum Side Table. This beautiful solid wood table is in very good condition. No visible major wear. The leather top is beautiful and easy to maintain with orange oil. It was made in 1950 per date stamp, designed to match a style from the early 1800's. The solid wood drawer is very handy to hide remotes and coasters. The table is very solid and stable 30x30x28h. Would make a great chess or puzzle table. We use it as an end table between two recliners.

History: Federal Revival furniture was particularly popular in postwar America, when decorators revived the restrained elegance of early American forms for dining rooms, libraries, and reception spaces. The lyre-like pedestal, saber legs, leather writing surface all borrow from fashionable furniture of the 1790-1820 Federal period associated with makers such as Duncan Phyfe. It's a good find.
