ZelleBeautiful 14-Year-Old Thoroughbred Gelding – Smooth, Strong & Experienced
We have owned this beautiful, strong thoroughbred gelding for about 7 years. He is approximately 14 years old and has been a great horse for my now 14 year old daughter. She has done a ton of work with him and he has become a great responsive horse..
He is an exceptionally smooth ride and has trail experience. Our teenage daughter has ridden him extensively, including in equestrian trail sport events. He loads and unloads from a trailer and is comfortable going out and doing things.
In the 7 years we have owned him, he has never bucked and has never kicked.
He is gentle, calm and mellow, but he can also have times when he is pushy in high-stress situations. He is best suited for a confident, experienced rider.
The reason we are selling him is simply that our daughter has progressed in her riding and wants to move into things that aren’t really his specialty. Being a Thoroughbred, there is only so far she feels she can take him in the direction she wants to go. She has now found another horse that better fits those goals.
We originally bought him from the Utah State Equestrian program. He did not like being in their stalls and was very anxious. (So he needs more open stall.) He is registered and was on the track originally. He has a track tattoo, but Utah State could never find the papers and did not know his original name.
My niece had him for a time and then my daughter started riding on him when she was 12 (at that time she was a very comfortable rider).
He still has a lot to offer. He is beautiful, athletic, strong, smooth to ride, experienced on the trails, loads and unloads well, and has never bucked or kicked for us. He would be a great fit for an experienced rider looking for a fun horse to ride, enjoy on the trails and take on adventures.
Although he is a gelding, there is some suspicion that he may have retained testicular tissue. This has not been confirmed. Occasionally he displays behavior that makes us wonder if he still has some testosterone. However, during the five years we have owned him, we have never seen him attempt to mount a mare or behave like a typical stallion.
We are looking to move forward so we are asking $3,500 OBO
