Smokey is a 22 year old gelding, he’s been used in 4h and has done barrels in his past. My son is focusing more on soccer so we are taking a break from 4h so he just hasn’t been used as much the past summer. Last year when my son showed his first year he placed at both shows anywhere from 1st-4th. Halter he placed top 2 both shows. He squares up well, knows his leads, and does well in both show and speed events. My son didn’t do as well in the speed events only because he’s a beginner and wanted to hold him back. He does still have a lot of go so I would recommend an intermediate rider. My 4 and 6 year olds have ridden him in a corral just fine but I’ve always led them in the arena. He does have arthritis in his front knees, the left seems to bother him more than the right, I did just have his right knee injected and it’s helped. The previous owner also had him injected in both knees. He is easy to catch, shoe, clip, and bath. Call or text with any questions
