Classic Bose Acoustimass 5 Series II stereo speaker system with the Acoustimass bass module and matching pair of Direct/Reflecting satellite speakers.

This is the original passive Bose design — no powered subwoofer or separate subwoofer amplifier is required. Your stereo receiver or amplifier connects directly to the Acoustimass module, and the two satellite speakers connect to the outputs on the module. The bass module contains the crossover/network that divides the signal between the bass module and satellites.

The small Direct/Reflecting speakers use Bose's angled driver arrangement to create the spacious, room-filling presentation these systems are known for. It's a nice setup for someone who wants full-range stereo sound without large conventional speakers taking up the room.
