Imported from Argentina, dorado gives breeders an opportunity to incorporate genetics outside of many of the lines commonly seen in North American Golden Retrievers—while still selecting for the qualities the Golden Retriever was developed to possess.

Dorado is more than an international pedigree.

He has been objectively evaluated in the show ring, field, temperament testing, and performance venues, demonstrating the versatility we believe should remain at the heart of the Golden Retriever.

He has the natural retrieving instinct and drive to work birds, the structure to earn a championship, and the stable temperament necessary to successfully earn both his CGCA, CGCU and ATT.

That combination is exactly what we want to preserve.

One of the things we’re particularly excited about with Coloso is the opportunity he provides for breeders looking to increase pedigree diversity and thoughtfully introduce international genetics into their programs.

We don’t believe “different” automatically means better. Every breeding should still be evaluated individually for health, structure, temperament, pedigree compatibility, COI, and the strengths and weaknesses of both dogs.
