Horse available for lease.
Bear is a 4 year old grade gelding. His is about 16 hands.
He is a really good boy. He’s very curious and very eager to please he’s always trying to figure out what I’m asking him to do. My family can all ride him around and they are very beginner. They often don’t go faster than a walk on him.
This summer I’ve been working in Capital Reef leading trail rides and I’ve been guiding off of him which has really elevated his ride. I’m really proud of how he’s been doing out here.
He does have a big stride when he lopes but he can collect it up very nicely when asked same with the trot. He is definitely a goer and has the energy to go all day.
He can also side pass both directions. He can yield his hinds and front fairly well. His fronts are a little trickier. He has a soft flex of the neck and a good one reign stop. The lady I bought him from had started him on barrels but I haven’t continued that training.
He stands good for the farrier. Loads into trailers well, I have a small 2 horse front loader that and he walks right in like champ. He can go out with or without other horses it makes no difference to him. He’s also used to the busy city. I rode him all over the city, he’s been exposed to dogs, cars, bikes, electric scooters, kids and most of the time he does amazing with it. He can be a little watchy in new places though.
I would say an intermediate rider under supervision would manage just fine on him, I would prefer a more advanced rider. He is only 4 and sometimes his toddler quirks do come out but most of the time he’s a really solid ride. Overall he is a very good and fun horse to ride.
I’m going on a 18 month mission and I’m looking for a good situation for him. I’m looking for a full care lease. Your expenses would be board, feed, basic vet care, and farrier. Please reach out if you’re interested!
