VenmoRunning motorcycle! Had for nearly a year, loved it for the whole time. Recently realized it isn't the style of bike that I can ride for long periods of time comfortably. Got myself a new ride, so selling this one. Odometer currently reads about 29,785 miles!
Pros: A CX500C is a very cool old Honda motorcycle, unique engine setup. Shaft drive means minimal maintenance, I have greased it since I got it. New set of tires and valve stems, current tires are still in ridable condition. Fresh oil change and coolant. New tachometer and speedometer cables. In really good shape for the age, she's 45 and doesn't look a day over 20. Brakes feel and work well. Transmission is strong. Engine runs well. DOESNT LEAK OIL. One new part and she'll ride anywhere you ask her to, some extra work and she'll be happy about it too!
Cons: TLDR; carbs, tachometer and coolant leak. When I got it, it wouldn't start up very easily. Figured out the problem was the carbs, did some work to clean them and sync them up and now she starts pretty well, but I imagine it could be better. The tachometer hasn't worked since I got it, the cable was broken so I put a new one in. The gauge is also not working properly because the glass pushes on the needle. Temperature gauge is also inaccurate. Has a small coolant leak after warming up, through research I figured out that it is most likely, like 99% sure, the mechanical seal on the back of the water pump. It's not a huge deal to get in there and fix, but I prefer working on cars, not motorcycles. Since getting my new bike a couple of weeks ago, I've had this one parked under cover outdoors, otherwise been inside.
