1996 Polaris Sportsman 500 in running condition with working 4WD. I’ve gone through it over the last couple of months and completed several maintenance items to get it running well. Clean title in hand

Recent maintenance:

• New battery

• New spark plug

• Fresh oil change and filter

• Fresh coolant

• Carburetor cleaned

• Compression checked and is right where it should be

• Front hub fluid change

• front break pads replaced

Features / Good Stuff:

• 4WD works

• Low range works

• Radiator fan works

• Plastics are in good condition for the age

• Tow ball installed

• Starts and runs

• Strong compression

• tires hold air.

Things that still need attention:

• Rear brake does not work

• Lights are not currently working

• Speedometer does not work

• Hot idle could use some adjustment

• Has a slight pull while riding

Overall, this is a solid older Sportsman 500 that runs and drives and has had some recent maintenance done. It would be a good ATV for hunting, property work, trail riding, or someone who doesn’t mind finishing up a few smaller projects. I have loved working on this ATV and it can be very fun epically for people who are mechanically inclined who want to have a few small projects on a machine that runs well.
