VenmoI have an absolutely incredible small flock for sale. I am heartbroken to let them go, but have 2 babies and work full time so just don’t have the time that I used to for milking. 3 ewes and 1 ram. They are all top of the line genetics, I’ve been very selective with breeding and which genetics I keep. All are East Friesian x Lacaune mix, the black one has some Awassi. Closed, clean tested flock (tested this year). I treat for parasites with ivermectin and an herbal mixture 2 times a year and rotate them on fresh pasture all growing season. They’ve had free choice Redmond sheep mineral, kelp and baking soda always. Never had any health issues and never mastitis. Their milk is so sweet and creamy. Sheep and descriptions below:
Peach - my absolute all star. She is the large white one. She gives a gallon a day at peak and seriously has teats like a goat. I have a video in case anyone thinks my pictures are fake haha. I watch the dairy sheep pages frequently and I’ve very rarely seen teats as large and easy to milk as hers. Very well attached, large symmetrical udder. Tons of personality and friendly as a dog. You could not ask for a more premium milking ewe. She is 4 years old and had 3 sets of lambs. Twins, twins, and then triplets this year. Always births unassisted and never rejected a lamb. The triplets all grew fine on her with no intervention.
BlackBerry - the gentlest ewe ever. She was a first freshener this year. Gave over a 1/2 gallon a day at peak. She isn’t super well trained to milking yet since I haven’t had consistent time for it this year, will be easy to train and birthed/raised twins unassisted this year. Seriously the most sweet, gentle ewe. Her teats are smaller than Peach’s but she has great udder conformation, large udder and her teats will continue to grow with more lambs.
Opal - Peach’s daughter. She is the smaller pictured white one. She is out of Peach and Handsome the ram, so you’ll likely want to breed her to a different ram. She was one of the triplets and has grown fabulously since her birth in early February this year. She is large, healthy and ready to breed this fall.
Handsome - our ram! He is so gorgeous. He is the spotted one. He produces the most beautiful dairy babies. He’s been a very gentle ram and done his job successfully 2 years in a row, last year creatively through the fence without us knowing. 🤪 He is from the top milker of the breeder we got our initial sheep from and comes from a stellar milking line. Peach, Blackberry and Handsome are all completely unrelated so are a great breeding trio. Opal is Handsome and Peach’s daughter so will need a separate ram, but that will be good for genetic diversification.
Asking $2k for all 4, price is firm. I would prefer they all go together. I really wish I had more bandwidth to keep my sheep, I love them so much. But I have to be realistic about my time right now and want them to go to a home with fresh pasture that will love and care for them as much as I have. They are not registered yet with NADSA but I had plans to get them registered. Please message me with any questions, you are welcome to schedule a time with me to come see them.
