VenmoAuthentic vintage Roto-Beam Air Circulator pedestal fan, manufactured in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. Likely dating to the late 1930s–early 1940s.
This is a fantastic original Machine Age/Art Deco industrial piece featuring Roto-Beam’s distinctive five-blade metal air circulator design, maroon motor housing, chrome-tone wire cage and heavy rolling pedestal base.
Approximate measurements:
49” overall height
16” fan cage
Approx. 12” blade assembly
Original Roto-Beam motor plate is still present and identifies the manufacturer as Roto-Beam of Chicago, Illinois. Plate indicates a 115V, 60-cycle AC motor with approximately 1,200 RPM.
Features:
Genuine Roto-Beam Chicago fan
Circa late 1930s/early 1940s
Five broad metal blades
Heavy concentric wire safety cage
Adjustable/tilting fan head
Large original-style adjustment knobs
Heavy metal pedestal
Four-legged cast-metal base
Four rolling casters
Maroon/burgundy motor housing
Vintage Bakelite-style inline switch
Original manufacturer identification plate
Great industrial, Art Deco, Machine Age or steampunk décor piece
Condition:
Fan is being sold AS-IS and NON-WORKING. It currently does not power on and will need electrical/mechanical restoration if the buyer wants to use it as a functioning fan.
The fan retains substantial original character and patina, including age-related wear, oxidation, scratches and finish loss. The older electrical cord/wiring shows age and should be professionally inspected/replaced before attempting to operate the fan.
I have intentionally left it in its unrestored condition rather than refinishing or modifying it.
Roto-Beam fans are collectible early American air circulators, and the full-size rolling pedestal versions make especially impressive display pieces.
Perfect for a collector, restoration project, vintage shop, loft, garage, man cave, photography/movie prop or industrial décor.
