ZelleMeet Denny!
Denny is 5 this year and is a very pretty tricolor paint Quarter pony (dam was 1/2 pony 1/2 Quarterhorse and stud was AQHA). I don't have an exact measurement, but she stands about 13 hands. Was born in July of 2021.
I've had Denny since she was six months old and have done everything with her. I only did groundwork with her until she was 3 1/2, then started very light with my weight on her back. She "competed" in barrels and poles with my seven year old daughter who was being led last year in the Grantsville Rodeo. She did ride her with no handler for the grand entrance and around the arena. Denny was fantastic and didn't mind all the noise, kids, or other horses. She also rode her in the 4th of July parade in 2025 (Denny was 4) with no handler down Main Street while tossing candy and Denny didn't bat an eye. Those photos are included.
I hauled water and a folding table up an inaccessible trail for some ultra-marathoners water station and she was perfect. Not bothered with the bags at all.
She's been started on the barrel and pole pattern under me and has some nice tight turns. Just needs more experience to be ready to compete.
I ride mainly for pleasure so Denny has been taken out on trails for 90% of her under saddle time. She'll cross water, but does still like to hop small streams. You'll feel her get ready to make that move so she won't surprise you if you know what you're doing. Big water she's good and won't try to clear it. Honestly she's super fun to ride on the trails as she'll go through anything and over anything you ask of her. Big trees fallen over the trail, sagebrush up to her withers, ditches, gullys full of sagebrush, bridges, etc. She very much enjoys adventuring out and about.
Safe around traffic and on roads. Three weeks ago we went through the Arby's drive-thru for shakes and she handled it like a champ. Earlier this summer we went through the drive-thru snow cone trailer for a treat and she was great then too. Cars don't phase her, neither do semi's as she's had them behind and in front of her as she was being ridden.
Good for farrier, will stand tied 90% of the time quietly, 10% she'll paw only. Can be ridden away from other horses and isn't buddy or barn sour. Very smart, not reactive. When scared she won't bolt, but would rather think it through and is very curious.
Been ponied and ponied other horses with no issues.
Easy to trailer. Backs out of a straight load.
92% of the way to neck reining and moving off your leg.
She would be a FANTASTIC 4H horse for a horse savvy kid.
Most recent photos and videos taken 8/20/26. She hadn't been ridden for two weeks before that. Lots more videos I can send from 8/20/26, KSL only allows one.
Currently barefoot. Next trim is scheduled for 8/31/26. Been trimmed every 8-10 weeks on the regular. Up to date on vaccines. Teeth checked this year by a vet and didn't need floating.
Only ridden Western.
Here's the caveats: -only a kids horse if the kid is more stubborn than she is. -paws in the trailer because she's bored. We've worked on it but she still does it. Also paws sometimes when tied. -very smart! She can open gates if they don't have some kind of clip or latch. -will make you prove you can be the boss instead of just "following along". -super people friendly which is fantastic, unless you don't know how to show her you have a bubble. She'll try to invade your space and push you around unless you tell her otherwise. Not dangerous, just annoying. -will play with anything and everything that isn't nailed down. -gets ornery when in heat. She'll want to be top mare and gets annoyed by other horses on her rear. If not in heat she'll happily tolerate a horse being right up her butt. -has a nice scar on hind left hock. Picture included of scar. She got it running through a barbwire fence when she was a yearling and it's healed up nicely. If you come see her I have pictures of the injury when it happened. She was treated by a vet. Doesn't affect her at all and is cosmetic only.
I'm only posting her because my life has gotten extra busy and she deserves to be ridden more than I have been going lately. Don't really want to sell her at all; she was planned as my daughter's step up horse when the 32 year old she's currently on kicks the bucket. No rush at all, and I'll hold on to her happily if the right person doesn't come around.
PPE welcome at buyers expense. Located in Grantsville near Pegasus Event Center.
No trades.
