VenmoBeautiful and unusual antique Nurre NUR-ETERNAL Art Deco wall mirror, marked on the reverse “NUR-ETERNAL” and dated August 18, 1932.
This is a genuine Depression-era mirror produced by The Nurre Companies, Inc. Nurre marketed its NUR-ETERNAL mirrors using a special non-electrolytic copper-back process designed to protect the mirror’s silvering and increase its longevity.
The mirror is made from a substantial piece of shaped glass and features:
* Ornate Art Deco arched top
* Decorative scalloped/cut glass perimeter
* Etched/frosted floral and scrolling designs
* Stylized urn motif at the top
* Decorative floral metal rosettes
* Copper-colored NUR-ETERNAL backing
* Original-style hanging hardware
* Factory marking/date still visible on the reverse
Measurements:
24” tall × 12” wide × approximately 3/8” thick
Condition:
Very good antique condition considering its 94-year age. The mirror retains strong reflectivity and beautiful decorative detailing. There is age-related wear, including scratches, small edge chips/flea bites and some deterioration along portions of the perimeter. Please review photos closely, as they are part of the condition description.
The original faint factory marking on the reverse is particularly neat and appears to read NUR-ETERNAL – AUG 18 1932.
A beautiful original piece of 1930s American Art Deco décor and a great collector/display piece.
