VenmoBostitch EHF1838K 18-gauge flooring stapler — the tool for installing engineered hardwood, bamboo, and thinner solid hardwood. Used for one home flooring project, works perfectly.
Sells new at Lowe's (currently $180):
https://www.lowes.com/pd/Bostitch-18-Gauge-1-in-Narrow-Crown-Flooring-Pneumatic-Stapler/5014851727
What makes this one good:
Oil-free operation — no oil spots staining your new floor, which is the whole reason to buy this over a generic stapler
Non-marring cap so it won't scratch or dent prefinished planks
Easy-sight tongue guide — makes it much easier to drive staples into the pocket at the right angle
Lightweight magnesium body, comfortable for a full day of work
Specs:
18-gauge, ¼″ narrow crown staples, 1″ to 1½″ (SX5035 series)
100-staple magazine
160 in-lb driving power at 70–120 PSI
Adjustable for 5/16″–7/16″ solid hardwood or 1/2″–5/8″ engineered hardwood and bamboo
Included:
Original hard carrying case with fitted insert
Partial box of 18-gauge staples to get you started
⚠️ Air compressor NOT included — this is pneumatic and needs your own compressor.
Note on fit: this is an 18-gauge stapler built for engineered and thinner solid flooring. If you're installing 3/4″ solid hardwood, you want a 15/16-gauge cleat nailer instead — happy to answer questions before you drive out.
Also have a Skil 3601 flooring saw listed separately — discount if you take both.
Cash or Venmo, local pickup in Midvale.
