Venmo1995 made in England Marshall JCM 900 Lead 1960A 4 x 12 slant guitar amplifier cabinet, Celestion G12T-75 speakers (so this can handle 300 W in the mono configuration, 150 W in stereo).
I bought it used about a year ago but have only used it at home; I have never gigged with it, because I use a different 2 x 12 setup with a HiWatt.
I am only selling it to make space for more gear. It sounds big and awesome, and I have used it for a classic/ prog rock (Pink Floyd, Rush) type sound using a HiWatt head (see the video clip for a section of the Shine On You Crazy Diamond lead; course there’s compression, a bit of chorus and delay). I have also used it as an extension cab to a Marshall DSL40CR for more hard rock/ heavy metal (think Def Leppard/ Metallica/ Iron Maiden) styles, and it sounds great.
I don’t play “djent” or other heavier styles of music, nor do I play down-tuned guitars or 8-string heavy metal, so couldn’t tell you how it would sound in that context.
There’s a lot of “cork-sniffing” in the guitar community about these G12T-75s vs. the Celestion V30s. I think that if you were blind-tested, the average guitarist couldn’t probably tell the difference between those two speakers. Regardless of how good you think you are, count yourself in the “average guitarist” category if you are scrolling classifieds on KSL marketplace 😊. So I hope you won’t get hung up on the speakers. Also, the cabinet is probably birch, and the back panel is probably MDF, for all you “tone hounds”. The speakers, as you can see, are made in England. The price is in line with what you will find on Reverb etc.
This is listed in “FAIR” condition due to the cosmetic condition but is really in “GREAT” operating condition. The cab itself is acoustically sound, but has some cosmetic issues with tears in the tolex/ vinyl (see attached pictures). The speaker grille itself does not have any tears. The listing is ONLY for the 4x12 cab. Nothing else you see in the video is included.
Serious buyers only. I will not respond to the automated “is this still available?” message. If you see the listing, the item is available.
I will turn you over to the fraud division of the police if you have a new account with nothing else other than your message to me, or if you tell me that you have “limited usage of your phone”, or if you tell me that your husband/ wife/ sister/ brother/ poodle is trying to get in touch with me and I should contact them on some random phone number. No shipping. In person pick up only. Cash (preferred) or Venmo (acceptable) only.
