Bought a 4G63T drivetrain from Japan for a direct replacement 18+ years ago and when we went to install it, it looked to be a cross of a 1G and 2G. Gearing is lower so we had to run a 3.909 rear differential to match the transmission/transfer case. Had to run a 1G to 2G harness. Ran DSM link at the time. Looked up the transmission part number and found it most likely came out of a first gen Evo. Finished the swap and put around 25k on the car before I parked it due to an oil leak.

Exterior is faded and rusting Driver door only opens in the inside Master clutch cylinder is bad Tires are bad Rotors are rusted Hatch shocks are bad Dash lifted Has an oil leak potential from the external oil cooler Battery is bad Cracked windshield Front clip 2G eclipse broken Has not ran in 14+ years
