2007 Kubota M8540 with loader, bucket, and 10 foot 6-way hydraulic Bison blade. The tractor has about 3560 hours (very low considering the vintage, I bought with 3000 hours). It is 85 horsepower and is completely emissions free, which means there isn’t the maintenance and cost of newer tractors (EGR valves, DPF filters, DEF fluid et. al.) It also means this tractor will most likely go at least 10,000 hours without needing any sort of major engine maintenance. All major mechanicals are in top shape. It has three rear hydraulic remotes (which is why the blade is 6-way).

There are a few minor things that I haven’t bothered to fix: the two front tires slowly lose air (over weeks/months), this is probably due to using chains on them so much, but there is good tread left and I wasn’t going to replace them until tread wore down. There are a few minor hydraulic leaks from some of the hoses/valves; I just top off the fluid once a year, but to remedy them they most likely just need some o-rings replaced. The seat has seen better days, but the air ride still works perfectly. The AC needs to be recharged (it never worked since I bought it), and the radio doesn’t work (again, hasn’t ever worked since I bought it). The parking brake doesn’t work either (again, never has, but with a blade and bucket it’s not even worth fixing). I have kept up on all routine maintenance: (oil changes/filters, differential fluid changes, greasing, air filters).

I purchased the tractor/loader 3.5 years ago from a dealer where it was traded in. It’s life before was for a municipality in N. Wisconsin, where they had a snowblower mounted on the front: the bucket had literally never been used. I purchased the 10 foot blade from Johnson Implement in Spanish Fork. Interestingly, the owner at Johnson Implement has the same tractor and the Kubota rep told him it is the best tractor that Kubota ever made.

I’m also including the full set of chains, which cost me $1200.

There aren’t many of these for sale nationwide: with the low hours and three rear remotes the research I’ve done on comps puts the value of the tractor at $35-$36k without the blade.
