Two male brothers about three years old. One female that is about two and a half. This will be her third winter which is when she should start laying.

With two males, she might mate with one, lay a clutch of eggs, then repeat with the other while the first sits on the first batch.

At least, that was our plan. If no one wants them, we'll continue with our plan!

We have raised them from when they were little. We can walk up to them and work in their pen and they're friendly but inquisitive. We have never had them kick anyone, and even our kids go into their pen.

Prefer to sell all at once as they are a bonded mob.

One female can lay 20-50 eggs in a season. Their hatch rate is 50-70%. Chicks sell for $250-300 each. If she lays 30 fertilized eggs in her first year, 15 chicks are worth $3,750 at 250/. Or you can sell the eggs, eat them, or turn their shells into art.

In a pinch, you can eat the emus, and they are supposed to taste like prime rib-- but I haven't tried it!

Or, you can have the most interesting birds you can own that won't try to eat you back.
