MultiCam 1000 Series CNC Router – Complete – Non-Running / Repair or Retrofit Candidate

Selling a MultiCam 1000 Series CNC router. This is an older industrial machine that is currently not operational and is being sold as-is.

The machine has been evaluated by the employee who previously operated and maintained it. At this time, the issue appears to be within the main power supply that powers the machine's motion system and related components. We have not invested in further professional diagnosis because we have decided to replace the machine rather than continue putting time and money into the older proprietary MultiCam controls.

Current Diagnosis

The suspected power-supply section consists primarily of:

• Bridge rectifier – common industrial component and not believed to require a proprietary MultiCam part.

• Large electrolytic capacitor – also commercially available from multiple manufacturers.

• Large toroidal transformer – multi-tap transformer with an approximately 71V main output. This appears to be the component most likely to require either sourcing through MultiCam, identifying the original manufacturer, or replacing as part of a control retrofit.

The exact failed component has NOT been confirmed. Further diagnosis would require getting the main power supply operational and then checking the remaining machine systems.

The mechanical machine is substantially complete and could be a good candidate for someone interested in:

• Repairing the original MultiCam system

• Retrofitting it with a modern CNC controller

• Converting it to an open/non-proprietary control system

• Using it as a complete mechanical CNC platform

• Parts/components

We understand these older MultiCam machines can be retrofitted, but we do not currently have the time or budget to complete that conversion ourselves.

This is not being advertised as a functioning or production-ready CNC router. Buyer should assume additional diagnosis and/or repair will be required.
