ZelleMore fall chicks are just around the corner, but we have 30 ahead of the rest! These strait-run chicks are now 2 weeks old and growing fast! We have been hatching and raising Buff Orpington chickens for 8 years, and can assure you won't be disappointed with them! They are a cold/heat hardy chicken, prized for being incredibly gentle and are often referred to as the "Golden Retrievers" of the chicken world. They lay 200 to 220 large brown eggs a year, and their thick feathers often allow them to lay even in winter. Their size makes them great dual- purpose breed, too! Also the hens make amazing mothers, and we've had an average of 1 out of every 3 hens go broody and hatch a clutch of eggs. The last 3 photos are of chickens we've had over the years, so you can see how they will end up. We are asking; $4.50 each, but are willing to give a discount if you buy 10 or more.
