ApplePay3.5 TB of storage. A new iMac starts at 256 GB - this has fourteen times that, on a 27" screen.
27" iMac (Late 2012, model A1419) with the top processor option and maxed-out memory. Erased
and freshly reinstalled - no old files on it, set up and ready to use. I'll give you the admin
password at pickup so you can change it to your own.
Specs:
- 3.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 (4 cores / 8 threads)
- 32 GB RAM - the maximum this model takes
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX, 2 GB dedicated video memory
- 3.5 TB Fusion Drive (500 GB SSD + 3 TB hard drive)
- 27" 2560x1440 display - no cracks, no chips, no dead pixels
- 2x Thunderbolt, 4x USB 3.0, SDXC slot, gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
- Built-in FaceTime camera, speakers, and microphone
Running macOS 15.7.9 Sequoia, installed with OpenCore Legacy Patcher, graphics acceleration
fully working. Apple's last native version for this model was Catalina, so this gets you a
current macOS with security updates into 2027 - modern Safari, modern apps, the whole thing.
One thing to know up front: because it runs Sequoia through OpenCore Legacy Patcher, don't
take the macOS 26 (Tahoe) upgrade when Software Update offers it - OpenCore doesn't support
Tahoe on this model. Stay on Sequoia and you're getting Apple security updates into 2027.
I've already turned automatic updates off so it's hard to trip over by accident.
No keyboard or mouse included - you'll need to bring your own USB or Bluetooth set.
The storage is the unusual part. Apple's Fusion Drive on this model paired a 128 GB SSD with
the hard drive - this one has a 500 GB Apple SSD plus the 3 TB, so 3.5 TB total. That's four
times the SSD of a stock Fusion and more room than you'll find on almost any Mac at any price;
a new iMac starts at 256 GB. If you shoot photo or video, or you've been living out of external
drives, that's the whole pitch right there.
The 680MX is also the fastest GPU Apple put in this generation, and 32 GB is the memory ceiling
for the model - so this is about as good as a Late 2012 27" gets. Great big-screen desktop for
a student, a home office, photo and video work, or anyone who wants a lot of screen without
paying for a new Mac.
Selling because we replaced it. Nothing wrong with it - both drives check out healthy.
$200. Cash, Venmo, or Zelle. Local pickup in Orem - no shipping, no holds.
