VenmoBeautiful vintage 6-panel Chinese black lacquer folding screen/room divider, made in Tianjin, China. This piece belonged to my grandmother and has been in my family for decades.
Features intricate hand-painted, carved and raised/relief detailing with peacocks, birds, butterflies, peonies, bamboo, florals and traditional Chinese motifs. The reverse side is also decorated with elegant gold botanical designs.

- 6 hinged panels\
- Approximately 6 ft tall × 8 ft wide fully extended\
- Each panel approximately 16” wide\
- Black lacquer finish\
- Hand-painted and raised/carved detailing\
- Double-sided artwork\
- Brass hinges and brass-capped feet\
- Original “Made in Tianjin China” plaque\
- Folds accordion-style for storage or different configurations
Believed to be mid-to-late 20th century. It is in good vintage condition with some nicks, scratches, edge wear and small areas of lacquer loss consistent with its age. Please see close-up photos for condition.
