This is a partscaster (not a fender), but the neck plate says “Fender Custom Shop” that I got off ebay. This is NOT a Fender Custom Shop telecaster, it is a partscaster.

All parts brand new except for the pickup and strap.

Locking tuners, modern bridge with individual saddle adjustment, pickguard still has plastic on it, control plate cover, 3-way switch and potentiometers all wired up and working, strap buttons, jack plate, string ferrules.

Has the truss rod adjustment on the top by the tuners. Easy access for adjustment, much better than the bottom or the ones that you would have to take the neck off to adjust.

Sounds great, no buzzes.

Bridge pickup works great. It does not have a neck pickup yet. I was going to get a Chopper T, but was considering modding the neck position for a full size humbucker or P90. I did not do that yet. I do have a black pickup cover for the neck position that I will include.

I took out all the screws from my American Telecaster Deluxe and got the same size exact length and width screws for this build.

I was very careful to use the perfect sized drill bit for each screw. All screws fit tight and like they should.

I just built this between 8/21 and 8/30 2026.

I bought the best fret files from Stewmac and spent over 2-hours getting the fret ends perfect. There are not any sharp fret ends.

I polished the frets and lemon oiled the fretboard.

The neck fits in the body perfect, very tight fitting on all axises. I did NOT modify the neck joint at all, no sanding or any modification, it is tight and solid. However, the pre-drilled holes in the body for string-thru and ferrules were ½ inch too long. I mounted the bridge in the correct position and re-drilled them. The strings are now perfectly centered on the neck and the guitar intonates perfect with plenty of additional adjustment. So I did mount the bridge correctly and for the correct scale length, not sure why the original holes from the factory were off. I was going to fill the old holes and cover them with a serial # label.

I did slightly modify the bridge pickup cavity with a dremel tool so that the pickup would fit perfect. I was going to touch up that wood with black paint, but have not done so yet.

Guitar plays great and is intonated perfect, no buzzes or high spots, but the saddles are currently a little higher than I would like. I am a very good guitar tech, but I am not a luthier. I am sure a luthier could quickly modify the neck pocket if you wanted the saddles lower, but I did not want to attempt that myself. But you can play as is and get a great feel for how the guitar plays. Its 95% there, just a little tweek from a luthier and it should be perfect.

Body has a some minor light scratches from when the body was stored before building, but most of those should buff out.

I liked it all black, but If it is too much black, you could easily add a different pickguard and a chrome control plate and chrome knobs or other color.

I live in Saratoga Springs and work by SLC airport. I am in Herriman and Draper almost daily, Lagoon in Farmington some weekends, so should be easy to meet.
